Since 1968, the Institute of Parasitology (IPZ) exists as a dual institute for the Medical Faculty and the Vetsuisse Faculty. In the areas of teaching, research and service, we are dedicated to the exciting field of parasites and vectors.

At our institute, research is conducted in the areas of parasites, cell biology, biochemistry, translational research, zoonoses and infections. In addition, we are the location for two reference centers.

In the Diagnostic Center of Parasitology (DZP) samples from the human and veterinary field are examined for parasites. We perform this service for hospitals, medical practices, veterinarians, veterinary schools, zoos and in connection with research projects.
